I think I’m too old to wave. First I’ll just wait till all the bugs are out and then will give it a try, because I think that Google Wave has a good starting point.

Éric surfed our couch yesterday. He had quite some days of heavy rainshowers and strong headwinds on his bicycle. Unfortunately we didn’t have much time to get to know each other better. He must have a lot of storys to tell ……..

citroën

In weather like this, when it’s raining and storming outside, I decided not to scrap our 14 year old Citroën AX, but to repair some minor problems.

There was a hole in the exhaust-pipe. Sounded very sportive when Marjan drove through the city, but actually it was just a hole in the exhaust-pipe ! Needed to be repaired because it could lead to a fine by the police.

Then there was a problem with the right drive-shaft. A well known problem for all Citoën users. In every turn to the left, Marjan could hear and feel the three balls in the drive-shaft cracking. She didn’t “trust” the car anymore, so ……..

There was a nice drawing of the shaft on the cardbox ;

It’s important to renew the oil-retaining ring at the gearbox side ;

BTW; to fix a new piece of pipe in the exhaust-system, I used the next cutting tool. I never used this type before, but it was very handy ;

Well, it did take a few euro’s , but the car is reliable again !

These days I can view old music-videos whenever I like; thanks to YouTube. When I was just a young guy I had to spent a lot of time to visit all the expensive concerts to see some good music. The television networks showed only the commercially attractive pop music in those days.

So nowadays it’s kind of luxury for me to see Nina performing “Naturträne”.

Only this plate is left from my fathers bicycle. The old frame is thrown away many years ago. It wasn’t possible to repair the old brakes, bearings and forks …… at least not by a simple guy like me. It would be more like a restauration.

Yesterday Marjan took me to a concert in the Stadsschouwburg in Bruges. Maria Farantouri gave a concert in this old theatre.

Unfortunately, she didn’t perform one of her famous songs; therefore it’s in the next video.
